An Apology

A post was written a week ago. Nasty comments were left about someone. A nasty comment directed towards me and a defense of that someone was also left which prompted a nasty response post by a friend to which I linked. After taking down the original post, I made a "final" post in anger with a derogatory term. Admittedly that was not me at my finest.

I apologize for leaving the comments up, I apologize for the link to my friend's post, and I apologize for referring to you in a derogatory manner. I make no excuses for my behavior, I only apologize and say that I'm sorry for the pain you have expressed to me that I have caused you.

You were a friend once and had gotten to know me over the course of a school year with some of the shared memories kept in this very blog. And if you remember rightly, you know that I'm honest to a fault and that apologies don't come easily from me. So when I say I'm sorry you should know it's meaningful, sincere, and true.

Foreign Law Students In Cali

Is the following what's happening to a certain Canadian I know that has an unusual - by unusual, I mean really disturbing - affection for the color yellow?
Matters got complicated last year, however, when the State Bar began enforcing a state statute that requires any applicant for a Bar license to provide a Social Security number as part of the state's Child Support Enforcement Program. While that posed no obstacle to foreign lawyers living and working in California, it effectively shut out untold numbers of attorneys who traditionally have practiced law or taken the state's bar exam while residing in their home countries.

An uproar ensued, particularly from England and Ireland, but there were also complaints from Italy and the deans of American law schools with foreign students.

Did our dean complain?

Assuming We SWLAW Students Can Choose Where To Work*

The studies also demonstrate that some parts of the country pay considerably more than others. Altman Weil puts the Pacific region in the top spot for associate compensation at a median of $131,661. The South Atlantic region's median is $125,864, followed closely by the mid-Atlantic at $125,368. The Mountain region’s median compensation is $111,784.

But Jenkins warns not to put too much stock in the differences.

"Our data reflects that recent graduates with firm positions on the West Coast did not receive substantially higher salaries than graduates working in other geographic areas," said Jenkins. "In fact, those in New York and the Northeast, as well as those employed in Washington, D.C., reported some higher-than-average salaries."

Robert Half Legal says the top-paying cities are New York, San Francisco-San Jose and Chicago.

But don’t plan your move just yet: higher salaries also come higher costs of living.

* Quite the assumption, think along the lines of the "ass out of u and me" joke.

What Your Underwear Says About You

You have a lucky pair of underwear. And you wear it more than you should.

You're not afraid to lay around resting your hand in your pants.

Brunette Is The New Blonde

That's what the maples and oaks are saying. What do I think? I think it's all a ruse by the brunettes and in typical blonde fashion the blondes have fallen for it.

Tragic.
