Oh God that is a funny piece. I wouldn't claim that the artist's concept derived from the last line of the article (nostalgia of childhood memories) really has much to do with the work (unless the figures are those memories that are being destroyed/consumed over time.) But step back and imagine these birds pecking apart people. Something macabre and something strangly funny. How many times have you tried to kick those lousy piteous birds? Now's payback. --Boargart

There's a fine line between 'art' and 'pathetic cry for attention.' Unfortunately, that line does not always exist.
