The Air Force won't accept people who need corrective lenses into their jet-fighter programs. But they should... you'd never hit a guy with glasses wouldja. Our pilots would be untouchable if they wore glasses. --Boargart
This policy is to provide the best chance of survival for pilots, as they must be able to see not only the enemy but friendly planes and landing areas. Too many things can go wrong with contact lenses or eyeglasses up there. Imagine a Naval aviator trying to land his jet on an aircraft carrier at night, and his contacts are all screwed up!

I don't get it. Are you supposed to be able to see well or something to fly a jet plane?
