Ladies...

MSN has released a list of Ten Things Every Single Girl Must Own which E-Spat has called bullshit deconstructed and is now compiling her own Better Than MSN List from comments. So go give your own input ladies. But before you do, does the corresponding list for men,

1. A top-notch coffee/espresso maker
2. A lamp in your bedroom
3. Swiffer Sweeper + Swiffer Cloths + Swiffer Wet Cloths
4. A comfortable couch
5. Nice underwear
6. A key-ring that can fix, cut, and open anything
7. $150+ jeans
8. $200+ dress shoes
9. 300-thread-count cotton sheets
10. The Joy of Cooking,

which was authored by a guy named Matt, match your list for what you would want to see a single man own before making him a single man no more?

Some of these things are kind of basics for living -- I'd be worried if I were dating a guy who didn't realize he should have light in the bedroom, a couch, or decent underwear. I would love to see Joy of Cooking on his shelf. But $150+ jeans and $200+ dress shoes -- essential for single men? Not every guy has to be a metrosexual. (Besides, a guy with $300 shoes would be more likely to end up with an equally high-maintenance woman.)

Which would explain Brian and Angela. Ha!

I'm kidding you two. Unless you actually have a pair of $300 shoes Brian, in which case chickenmagazine is completely dead-on. Which is not to imply that Angela is a high-maintenance woman. That's an inference I leave for others to draw completely on their own.

Geez. That list disgusts me. And perpetuates stereotypical women. How about an iBook? How about a passport? How about a kickass CD collection? Blech. MSN needs to get some depth.
