Seminar Paper Progress
During times like this I wonder if I would do it all over again and decide to go to law school.
Yes, I know. I don't have to wait 10 years to reread this post to think "My God, what a whiny and procrastinating bitch I was." I know it already.

Evil Women & The Things They Do: Part 1 In What Could Be A Very Long Series
Me: (dials "Woman's" nummber)
Woman: Hi Wayne!
Me: Hey "Woman", I just got your message.
Woman: Yeah, so what time are you leaving for Trini's?
Me: Well I was going to leave in about ten minutes.
Woman: Want to come over and we can all ride together?
Me: Ok.
Woman: What time do you want to pick us up?
Me: Well what's a good time for you?
Woman: Well I'm in my pajamas so I still have to get ready but I want to take a nap first.
Me: How long of a nap do you want to take and how long will it take for you to get ready?
Woman: I don't know. When can you get here?
Me: Maybe an hour.
Woman: An hour?!
Me: Well it depends on traffic.
Woman: So 45 minutes to an hour. What time do you want to get here?
Me: Well tell me how long you want to nap for and how long it will take for you to get ready.
Woman: No, you tell me when you want to get here.
Me: No, you want to take a nap so you tell me when I should get there.
Woman: Don't be whipped Wayne and decide for yourself.
Me: Ok... find yourself another ride then.
Woman: No!
Me: (hangs up)
Seriously, why can't women merely allow a guy to be accommodating? Why must women make things like this into a "thing"? It's annoying.
UPDATE: Got a call from the "woman" and now I'm going to clarify. I think you can tell from the post that we were both trying to be nice and accommodating to each other. Also, she probably doesn't come off as looking too bad considering it was me that hung up on her, rudely cutting our conversation short. Anyway, I still think since I was already ready to go and she wanted more time to nap and get ready, it was up to her to decide when she wanted me there.

Technical Difficulties
Got a complaint about one of the links - I think it's the one with the text "trying to solidify, if not move up." Something about viruses and adware. I have no idea. I'm having no problems with it myself. Anyway, just leave a comment detailing any problems you might be experiencing due to this site because I love to hear people bitch.
Still Third Tier
But at least last year's graduates were able to rank in the top ten of something with SWLAW trying to solidify, if not move up, that ranking.

From The Mailbox
Dear Continuing Student:
Southwestern University's Board of Trustees has recently reviewed the School's most pressing issues and developed goals and a budget that they believe will be adequate to maintain and enhance Southwestern's programs To maintain the highest quality educational experience was of utmost concern.
After scrutinizing Southwestern's needs, the trustees set the fiscal year 2005-2006 tuition at $995 per credit unit. This rate will be effective with the 2005 summer session.
Sincerely yours,
Beth Drake
Chief Financial Officer
That would be a $45 increase from this year's tuition.

Excuse Me For Being A Conservative Prick
university campuses have become so cartoonishly left-wing that many students are essentially just tuning out their professors. Students report that they just go through the motions of pretending that they are converted, then they just regurgitate the mantra on exams in order to get a good grade. Meanwhile, many students dismiss their professors as risible ideologues (a good example here).
Perhaps the fact that students are largely unchanged by their university experience is the most damning comment of all about what is going on at universities today.
Hmmmm... do I tune out any of my professors?

Maybe It Wasn't Such A Bad Idea After All
Well Liz, at least now the two non-asian Japanese guys won't be mocking your idea, they'll be mocking someone else's.
The invention is an absorbent pad system and method of manufacturing same. A preferred embodiment of the invention includes a non-woven absorbent core fabric material coated on one flat planar surface with a polyester film interposed between two distinctly separate layers of acrylic adhesive, and optionally with a wide-mesh material adhesively affixed to the other flat planar surface to obtain an absorbent device that is conveniently adaptable to a large variety of usages.
At least several such uses might be mentioned, without intending to imply any necessary limitation or exclusion thereby. As a manufactured fabric, the article of the present invention is sufficiently comfortable for wearing with other items of clothing, so that it could be incorporated for use with absorbent incontinence pads, with brassiere liners worn by lactating women, or with hat bands or athletic head bands worn to provide a barrier against unwanted effluence of perspiration.
The absorbent core can be impregnated with disinfectants, deodorizers, and/or antibacterial agents as needed for the various applications.
Congratulations!
To all those who were selected to be interviewed by Moot Court which included my mentee, Tessa, who made it as an alternate oralist.

Is It Just Me...
Or does anyone else get the same urge I do when they see a floor flood drain in the restroom?

In Case You're Worried You Didn't Get Enough Done During The Break
If you ever wish you could have more time to get something done, just remember: if you did have more time, you wouldn't get more done. The extra time would melt away, and you'd be back feeling pressure to get it done in too little time. You might as well enjoy the free time and not moan about the things you didn't achieve. Idle moments at the dining table, talking about this and that, are much more your real life than all those grand accomplishments, achieved and unachieved.
