Pitch It So She Can Hit It

Today's - SWLAW's first annual? - softball tourney went well. It went so well that it should definitely be budgeted for next year, but probably on the condition that Brian organizes it again.

A summary of the first game played:

  • My mentee, Tessa, robbed Jay of at least a two run double in an instance of ball finding glove.
  • She also got on base multiple times and even drove in a run.
  • Brandy got on base every time she was up during the first game.
  • She also caught several scoreless innings.
  • The 2L day team gave up 5 runs in the first inning by playing too deep in the outfield.
  • In perhaps a costly tactical error, we had one of the girls purposefully strikeout with the bases loaded in fear of hitting into a double play.
  • Needing one run to end the game, the next batter popped up to end the bottom of the inning.
  • We ended up losing the game 8-6.
I'm exhausted. Goodnight.
