I Am Dumb But Not Because I Vote Republican

Calling the voters dumb probably doesn't do much to win people over, either. It always strikes me that so many people who are quick to note the importance of understanding the differences in perception between nations, or races, or sexual preferences, and to try to bridge those gaps, are so unwilling to do the same thing where people from elsewhere in their own country are concerned. But Democrats must do better, or become a regional party. Because contempt doesn't win a lot of votes.
I don't mind being called dumb for all the dumb things I do with the hope that it'll someday discourage me from doing those dumb things - that assumes I care about being called, which I don't so I'll probably repeat doing dumb things. But being called dumb only because I voted for President Bush is just plain mean. And that's what happened at school today. I'm going to go cry into my tear stained pillow now. Bye.
